Kinder Excursion

The Kinders had a fabulous time visiting Our Lady of the Way Emu Plains, today! The children got to compare and contrast their experiences of school & make new friends. Many thanks to the parent helpers and all those involved in the excursion. The generosity of our parents is very much appreciated.

The big bus was a real hit!!

We all waved as the set off & were eager to find out how it all went when the children came home just after recess. Opportunities like these help to enrich the learning experiences for our children & help to make learning fun!!

Building Works

The frame for our hall will go up this week. It is an exciting time as we can see it starting to come together!

The students have had a great time watching the crane in our car park!

How high does it go????

Working Bee!

A HUGE thank you to the parents and students who assisted in the School Working Bee on Saturday, 28th March. The garden's were weeded, pine chip was spread, garden tables were moved, and a low wall was constructed for the Prayer Garden to keep it tidy.

The playground looks BEAUTIFUL due to the hard work of these generous volunteers.

Cross Country

Congratulations to all the students who competed in the Cross Country on Thursday.
Many of the children took part in the fun run, benefiting from a little exercise that was lots of fun. Other students chose to run in the more competitive races. It was fantastic to see so many parents, teachers and students encouraging our runners on the day. Over 40 students will now represent H.F.S at the Zone Cross Country in April to be held at Eastern Creek Raceway.

A big THANK YOU goes out to all the parents who were able to attend and help on the day.

Palm Sunday Liturgy

On Friday March 26th parents, students and teachers were able to come together to reflect upon the events and the significance of Palm Sunday. The Kindergarten children retold the story of Jesus riding on a donkey into Jerusalem and of the people who waved palm branches and called out “Praise the King, He who comes in the name of the Lord.”

Thank you to the students and teachers who organised the celebration and to those people who were able to join us on the afternoon.

We also have the opportunity to use different areas for different types of play:
# Chess pieces will go out each day now- for use at recess & lunch
# The tables on the grass will be a 'quiet' area for board games etc
# We will take out the bean bags etc for hopscotch & handball for infants
# Handball courts- 1/2 for stg 3 ( near the new stg 3 classrooms) 1/2 for stg 2 (on the prayer garden side of the playground)

New toilets for infants classes opened!

You wouldn't think it would be such an anticipated event! But the opening of the refurbished toilets for our Infants Playground was an exciting and eagerly awaited event for our children.

It was probably because the Infants Playground could now be used in addition to the OZ Play and other areas.
Hooray!!!!!!

Catholic Schools Week 2010

We had a marvelous week during Catholic Schools Week this term!
On Monday the Student Leaders and Mrs Manning went in to the city to the Entertainment Center to hear different speakers talk about Leadership.
On Wednesday the teachers went and celebrated together with Bishop Anthony Fisher at the Parramatta Diocesan Mass.

On Thursday we celebrated our Catholic Schools Week Mass in our beautiful church

Afterwards we shared a lovely morning tea together on the playground and parents could join in learning activities as they walked through the open classrooms at HFS.
On Friday we enjoyed the company of parents and staff at a BBQ sausage sizzle after school. We all were thrilled to have the opportunity of a 'walk through' of our soon to be finished refurbished areas.

It certainly was a great week!
